I'm looking for a good set of pre-Dreadnought rules with high detail in terms of combat.
I grew up in the Philadelphia area and so went to see the Olympia many times. And for some reason I'm suddenly really interested in that period of naval combat again.
Any suggestions?

I've preordered the new Quick Play rules and am really looking forward to giving them a try. Mainly because the biggest issue in getting folks at my FLGS to play has been length of games. Here's hoping it makes for sub 2 hour games.

I was never really a fan of the old cards. The old game was slower than slow with them in play.
With the new canceling mechanic you both tend to use cards more judiciously and hoard the high cost ones for late game effect. I like that. So I'm a fan of the new cards.

First up, here are the models primed, washed with a blue ink/glaze/whatever GW is calling it these days, and then 3 stages of drybrushing up through Ice Blue:And!? It's been nearly a year after all. Did you finish them? Sell them? Eat them? What happens next?
Next, here is a picture with the "camo" pattern blocked out in grey:
And finally, here they are with the grey areas washed in black to add some depth:
Next step will be to go back over the camo patches with white, to lighten them up. Then, it will be on to the part I'm really dreading...the decks. Especially on the dreadnought...there is a ton of crap to paint around on the deck of that thing! Anyway, I'm hoping I can get this batch of models done over the weekend, as I have another batch waiting in the "wings".
