If you haven't seen them yet, Prussians, EotBS, and CoA got some awesome new giant robots. To add to the goodness, Spartan has stepped up it's game even further with detailed bases. One of the Prussian robots is walking through a train yard!
-
Urge rising to get that Prussian Templar box, then this new bot. But I promised myself I'd get more painted first...
-
Holy cow, lots of good stuff. I might get the German and Japanese robots just to paint them up--Stephan, yeah, those bases look outstanding, especially the train yard! Although the CoA robot makes me want to go get a can of bug spray...
And, looks like we're getting new commanders and special characters for Halo! The commanders aren't actually on any ship on the table, but the heroic characters are actually assigned to a specific ship, if I recall correctly from the rulebook...and there is supposed to be some sort of synergy between the fleet commander and the special characters. We're getting a minor prophet for the Covenant, and Cortana for the UNSC!

Mmmm, giant robots. <drool drool drool>
Having been a large fan of Shogun Warriors and the various cartoon of them in the 70s and early 80s (anime and Transformer precursors), as well as proud owner of several of the 2' robot toys, I utterly dig these.
Can't wait to see how Stephan paints one up, I'm a fan of his smaller Metzgers.

I have them all on order. Yay robots!!!

We will eagerly await pics of them once you have them all painted up!
-
Nice! What's not to love about big, stompy robots?! I will probably pick up the PE one eventually.
-
Not sure how I feel about it, but the Brits just got one as well http://shop.spartangames.co.uk/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=DWKB50DWKB50

FSA got their Iron Giant finally. Suuuuuper Maaaaannnn!
For those who never saw the movie:

Style wise the FSA seems to have drawn the short straw...alas it mud join the rest of my navy, despite what the wallet says. With the various "arm" weapons the magnetizing will an interesting chore.

Where are you finding these? I can't see them in the normal products on the shop

Check the Pre-Order tab, and they're often in the Blog as well.
For all the rumors, Dec turned out to be quite light in releases.

Yeah, they aren't in either the Pre-Order tab or the Blog that I can see. I had to troll through the forums to find them. Here's the link for the FSA "Restitution":

Not sure how I feel about it yet. I'm a big fan of the John Henry-class and Freedom-class robots, but...not sure. I need to see more pictures of the actual model painted up, I think.
Regarding December releases...I don't think we've seen the "official" list of December releases yet, have we? I expect we won't see it until later in November, possible after the 25th, when the next round of upcoming models releases (all the PF command helices and the Punic and CAS for Halo). Of course, I don't get the Spartan newsletter, so maybe I'm missing someting.
-
Thanks. I have to say that in general the new robots (all 5) don't seem all that special. I don't need more humanoid robots to fight. However, the idea of a mobile weapons platform like the Brits got seems more interesting. The EBS have Squids, the Brits have moving castles, the Chinese have Dragons and Lions. I would like for them to keep with a trend of nation specific themes.
That being said, every nation getting a giant robot is a bit silly to me. I think the models look fine, but it changes the game a lot. I almost view them like the Invaders box set. You can use them for fun, but they're not intended for competitive play. Although, Spartan seems to be trying to balance them in the force lists. I think it could at least be fun to see all the giant bots fight the Invaders!
Are any of our folks picking any up?
-

Now THAT would be a fun game! Although the Invaders would probably still win. Stupid Invaders. But it sure would look cool!
I will probably pick up the FSA robot at some point, but it might be awhile. I still need more naval ships to flesh out my RoF and FSA forces, plus I need to pick up the RoF heavy bombers. Has anyone heard if the French and Russians are getting a robot? I think they're the last two of the Core Seven nations that don't have one. I looked through the discussion threads on the Spartan forums for both the RoF and the RC and didn't see any mention of new robots for either nation...maybe that will be an early 2016 release.
-
I have also tried to find out if the RC will get a robot. Most people assume they won't, but it seems that pretty much all the other nations are so we'll see. If they do get a robot, I would prefer something more unique like the mobile weapons platform. Maybe a big hulking bumper boat bot with cranes and the like to tear ships apart. Or maybe even a whale or walrus? Animals are more interesting to me.
There is more chatter for the RC getting a proper sky fortress. The PLC are being fleshed out into their own nation a bit, and it makes less and less sense that the RC get all their goodies.
-
The RC should get a big dancing bear!
Martians vs giant robots would be great! We just need enough folks with the robots assembled and painted to do it. I've got the new Prussian robot plus my two Metzger. Anybody else picking up the robots?
-
When I start buying DW again, I'll get the Prussian big guy, the Templar box, and the FSA Iron Giant. :-)
Though I kinda love the Windsor. Enough to make me consider Britannia all by its lonesome, what what!
Hmmm...anyone want to trade their Britannia for FSA or Prussians? SQUIRREL!
-
I'd love a giant bear bot!
I am picking up EBS but don't plan on the Samurai robot. I will definitely be getting the Ryuo Skimming Squid, the Ikas and the small class squid bots too. I know they won't hold up as well, but I like the idea of the peoples of earth countering Invaders with some tentacle-clad bots of their own.
-
That scenario really appeals. This time I think the Human Alliance should invade Mars and we fight on the Red Planet. A big, rust-red felt, my pyramid terrain, and my Stargate and we're ready to go.
-
Will absolutely be getting the KoB's robot fortification gun thing. Unsure on the FSA bot...i say that now knowing damn well i pick up everything new for the FSA...sigh

Joke I heard from my brother:
"Between 'Saving Private Ryan', 'Interstellar', and 'The Martian', humanity has spent a LOT of money rescuing Matt Damon."
-
Well. He's worth it.
-
Spartan put out a pic of the Russian giant robot. Is it just me or does it look kinda drunk?
-
Well it's not a bear but it does look pretty dang brutal.
-
Crazy! I'm stuck at work (Firewalls). What does it look like!?

Yeah me too, I just went out and took a look on my phone. I like it. I especially like the giant scythe it's carrying, and apparently you can dual-wield those things. Although the water-based model looks a little shorter than the other robots...
There was also a tease for the RoF robot, which they said we will see on 16 Nov...and something about it being aimed at the FSA??? Should be interesting.
Contemplating getting one of each of these, for display purposes if nothing else, but at 45 British pounds apiece, getting all seven of them would be about $480.

Statue of liberty! Hovercraft Louvre! Walking Eiffel Tower!

You might be on the right track. The note on their website said "something from the RoF's past, aimed at the heart of the FSA", or something like that.
-
I'd love to see her torch turned into a heat lance.
-
OK I finally saw the Russian bot. I admit that it looks cooler than I expected. I like the typical smokestacks on the "backpack." I also like the shoulder turrets/mortars. And the battle ax looks awesome. The viking theme hits my soft spot.
-
Hover-HeatRay-Statue of Liberte'. I've got it on order.
-
I love the French faction, but I really can't wrap my head around that model. That being said...post up some pics once you have it painted!
-
It's silly, and that's most of the point. Will do on the photos.
-
I want her for my giant robot smack-down vs the Martians.
-
Recently got operation shadow hunter for the Blazing sun models. Also picked up the Giant robot of Doom (Ayakashi). Hoping to be able to make it this sat to either play with it or start painting it. Looks pretty great to boot to.
-
Picked up a Hochmeister and Coeus. I particularity like the Coeus as it's the MechaGodzila equivalent of the larval stage of Mothra!!!
I imagine tiny CoA people singing songs of hope adoration as it particle accelerates the hell out of enemy units.
-
The Coeus reminds me of some of the bugs that infested the house I lived in my last year in college. The model kinda gives me the creeps.
-
Apparently it's a huge pain to assemble

Cool, you should quake in your boots then if I ever get it on a table (based on what Stephan said, might not be that easy to do).
-

How would you rate the assembly process for the Hoch compared to other DW stuff?
-
Pretty easy. Best assembled with magnets so you can use all the weapon load outs.
