I figured it out! I had honestly given up hope, but after a bit more head scratching (well, to be honest, after a little more hair pulling!) I finally manged to get the ol' girl put back together again. I now know a lot more about the guts of SMF settings than I ever wanted to, but hey! It works  8)

I still need to fix the rotating banners, though...

So, it looks like everyone will need to re-upload their avatars. I just tried it, and it worked fine, so the function works. However, I managed to delete all the previously uploaded ones during the re-install process. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Hated to see all the work you've done to the boards get lost.

Did looked like a few of my tutorials got scrambled. I'll edit the pics back it ASAP.

Yeah, I think the same thing happened to your tutorials that happened to the avatars...were the pictures attached to the post? I wonder if that might have been it. Some of the auxiliary directories haven't been restored, and to be honest I'm a little nervous to try out of concern it might bring the whole thing down again!
