All take note, if you haven't already, of the Sunday (Feb15th) Firestorm Armada Tourney being held at Genghis Con! See the Con site for details, but quick summary:
-- Bring 3 fleet sizes, 800/1000/1200.
-- Painting is optional, but there's a prize
-- Three rounds, and the first round will actually have team ups!
Scoring will include Painting AND Sportsmanship.
Prizes are:
Best Painted: Choice of Firestorm Dreadnought Group Box (main factions), or a Planetfall Allied Aerial Helix (Ba'Kash or Hawker)
"Most Sporting": Marauders Campaign Guide (I assume the old book), or a Random FS Blister.
3rd Place: One of the three Firestorm Hardbacks, or the Planetfall Rulebook
2nd Place: One of the books as above, PLUS choice of Firestorm Cruiser Box (any main faction), or Planetfall Allied Recon helix (Works Raptor or Terquai).
1st Place: One of the books above, PLUS choice of Firestorm Patrol Fleet Box (any main faction), or Planetfall Core Helix (any main faction).
If I can swing it, I'll come up on Con Friday too, and run some Planetfall.

Looking forward to it Dale!

Reminder to all, get signed up now!
3018 Firestorm Armada V2.0 1/10000 Space Combat: Siege of the Genghis Cluster
Hosted by Stephan Hillman, Dale Kunz, and Greg Wright
Tensions are high in the Outer Reach, with the Alliance of Kurak and Zenian League forces poised to strike at a moment's notice. Determined to show strength, both factions have sent expeditionary fleets into the contested areas and it will only take a single spark to set the Reach on fire. This will be a 3-round narrative event with players divided into two teams based on their chosen faction's allegiance to either the League or Alliance. Marauders & Mercenaries will be assigned to the team with the fewest players. Players are to bring three fleet lists; an 800 point Patrol list, a 1000 point Battle list and a 1200 point Battle list. Prizes will be awarded for Highest Battle Log Score, Sportsmanship, and Best Painted. ***Official Spartan Games Event*** Intermediate. Rules not taught, but questions answered. Figures not provided. Arapahoe Room, Tables AR1-6. Limit 12 players.

Quick question Dale:
Are you aware if we need any sort of specific hard copy ticket for access or anything?
I never received anything in the mail.
-
I think they give you hardcopy tickets when you arrive and check in. I recall collecting events tags in past years.
-
Fantastic. Thank you, I am only doing Sunday so I don't want to be held up at the door and then end up late for the game or something.
-
Can we get a head count of who's planning to come? Quickdraw is obviously in. What about everyone else? When we checked with the con admins, only two people had preregistered.
-
And be aware, the EVENT starts at 9. That means allow extra time beforehand for check-in, unpacking minis, etc. Being Sunday, we're on a tight schedule to get in 3 rounds.
I'll probably leave the Springs at 6AM ish, to ensure I'm setting up by 7:30..
-
Yah, I didn't prereg in time, but I am signed up, so I'll be there tomorrow. Really looking forward to it!
-
Thanks for hosting this event, guys. I had a great time playing with y'all. Hopefully next time I won't have to reference the books every 5 minutes and I can get past turn 3.
Damn Mark's Rethoza were a pain to make a hit stick to them. First time playing against that fleet.
-
Wade, glad you had a good time, and thanks for coming out. Looking forward to facing your Hawker fleet sometime! Beautiful models--you should post some pictures in the Shipyard thread, I'm sure everyone here would love to see them. You *might* be the first person on Man Battlestations to run the Hawker fleet!

Thanks for hosting. It was a hectic day of good old fashion gaming.
I'm glad we were able to see some new faces as well.
Wade, hopefully we'll catch you at some of our Denver Area Spartan Gamers meetups.
