Hello,
I found this site at topsideminis.com. I am a wargamer, boardgamer, and rpg player who has dabbled with miniatures. I have always wanted to get into naval wargames. I just got the X-Wing starter set and I plan on ordering some minis from topsideminis. I am currently looking for a good WWI and WWII set of historical rules (leaning towards General Quarters). I am form Shreveport, LA, if any players are in the area.

Welcome aboard! Glad to have you with us.
I've heard some good things about GQ! Also look into Grand Fleets from Majestic12 games; I found their rules to be well done, and they are quite economical too.

I have definitely looked at Grand Fleets. I like the fact that it covers WWI and WWII and looks like it could play well solo. I am leaning towards General Quarters because it covers more options and you get a print product and free downloads and updates.

Welcome! Good to see fresh faces on the forum.
Hopefully you'll find some content of interest to you.

Welcome!
If you're into X-Wing, you might also enjoy Star Wars Armada as it uses the venerable Naval Battles mechanic of plotting movement 2-3 turns ahead of time.
And yay for spelling the name right!
(Nobody say it backwards!)

Aye, welcome aboard. You might be our first forum member in Louisiana!
X-Wing is a great game, I think you'll enjoy it. Feel free to browse our X-Wing section and look at some of our battle reports and homegrown scenarios.

Hey! I'm from Louisiana too ya know. I've just been in Colorado so long I've lost my coonass accent.
Welcome!

Well yeah, but I said IN Louisiana, not FROM Louisiana.
But it's OK. My Hogs beat LSU again this year (in Death Valley, no less). :D
