So, sounds like our next meetup is 19 July at Collectormania. Sounds like a plan to me.
After reviewing my schedule on Saturday, there is no way I'll be able to make it. Sorry guys, but I can't skip the service appointment, and my wife has stuff going on, so she needs her vehicle that day.
Somebody sink some of Mark's Russians for me. :)
Looks like I gotta start gluing some spaceships together!no glue sniffing!!

Hey all, sorry I've been under the radar. Had a bout of painting and assembling... Too bad it was for a shed and not Spartan stuff. And then had a kidney stone scare, which has yet to pass. I'll try to make Sunday though. I'll schlep some FA as that sounds like what we're going to play.
I don't have any land based units so if I could borrow some I'd like to have a go.
It sounds great.
Mark, why am I not surprised you have a "rather large" ground force? You, my friend...have a resin problem. :D
I'll definitely be there, but I was hoping to oppose the Martians with my glorious FSA aerial fleet. But I'll play whichever side you need me to.
The 21st works and Collectormania seems to be the best bet for a meeting of worlds. We can play it by ear but I'm up for a big DW naval game. Or I can bring all the X-Wing. No biggie to me either way.
If we're going DW in March, I have Prussians, French, and Covenant that I could easily field at 550pts.
Thanks for considering a big DW game. I am excited about this!
I can field Polish-Lithuanians and/or Russia. I am thinking PLC for this one though.
I'll be there with Prussians! Can I bring all air?
Do you guys know your start time that day? I am still trying to make it and the Danes are itching for a fight with their flagship just painted ready to go.
I can field whatever we need for balance: Russians, Blazing Sun or Antarcticans.
Many thanks to Greg for putting together a great scenario today, and thanks to Mark, Jason, and Chris for playing!
I should be free for either one - but what will be played?
Looks like I'm out for the 19th. Turns out I need to go to Los Angeles for my new hire orientation for my new job and be there first thing Monday morning, so I'll be flying out Sunday.

Well, leave us some of your ships so we can sink them while you're gone.... :)
Congrats on the new job, btw!
It's looking positive for me to make it up on the 19th - I'll know by Sunday. But if I come up, should I bring Prussians or FSA?
I'll probably bring everything just for kicks.
Sounds good. I should be able to get there at 11.
And one bonus is that there is a large (but unfinished) basement that I can offer up to host some gaming sessions now and then.

You heard it here first, folks! Mark is offering to host game day at his house!! :) :) :) :)
Any thoughts on this month's meet-up? I'm thinking the 13th.
For those who want a ride out to AQ on Saturday, meet me at the Radisson hotel at Parker and I225. We'll meet in the lot on the east side of the hotel at the store opens at 11 and mapquest says it's about a half hour drive by interstate, so let's plan to meet at 10:15. My cell is 719-444-0885 if you're running late and need me to wait a few minutes.
With the event on the 26th, I won't be able to do both days
I vote for combining them into the one big event at the haven on the 26th.
Don't worry about your RSN not being present, the Oroshan will gladly fight on the Zenian League's behalf, for a price.
Are we still in the Firestorm phase for August, or did you guys burn yourselves out in that massive game yesterday? :D

Perhaps it would be a good day for a HALO test run? Though I had in mind some PLANETFALL teaching actually...
I actually still have not played a game of Planetfall, would like to give it a shot.
I'm going to be there a little late thanks to work...probably between 1030 and 1100.
Turns out I won't be able to make it. I was holding out till today to see if I could but I'm just going to have to be counted out this month.
Hey guys,
If it's ok I'd like to stop by for a bit. I would be interested in checking out BOTH HALO and planetfall.
There are two variants of the orb. One has just generators, but the other has the Time Flow generator AND an energy blast weapon that has a 360 fire arc and does 3d6 AD at RB 1 and RB2, and 1d6 AD at RB 3. It's one of those "ignore at your own peril" units.
The 14th works for me. Time for some fire skimmers!
Let's do option 2.
Landlubber and I can run GC against the bad guys.
Sorry, looks like I should have posted this up over at the Firestorm Armada thread.
I should be able to attend also. Actually have off that day. Can bring planetfall as i be yet to play. And of course dw since the Brits have yet to hit the table.
I posted my scenario over in the general DW forum page. Here is the link for those of us that can't be bothered with a bunch of clicks.
http://www.manbattlestations.com/forum/index.php?topic=1071.0
Let me know what you think about it In that topic and tell me if you want to play it in this one.
We have four DW players this month? Myself, Landlubber, Captainrockman, and Warhawk?
I can put in RC or PLC for the GC, or EBS (maybe CF) on the IB side.
I could go either way. I think Warhawk predominately plays CoA. But, that may be different now. I suppose someone's Aussies could side with CoA.
I'm not into Firestorm right now, and I'll be at the PlanetFall game during Adepticon. If we are not going to be doing any DW or PlanetFall just post up and I'll catch you guys next time.
I will attempt to be there on the 23rd. Also want to know who is going to be in the springs on monday the 18th for some halo battles. Just picked up the reach box set, dont know which fleet I want to go yet. Covenant looks real good based on what I have seen and read.
Anyone interested in getting together on the 6th? Greg and I talked about maybe a painting day.
I'm good with either, though it's probably be best to get a game or two in while I've got an opponent.
For a 2 on 2 game, I'd recommend 800 points. This will be a naval engagement, correct?
If we want to start thinking about June, I could do the weekend of the 11th-12th or 18th-19th.
Dale, you play too many games. :D
Comrades, I plan on being there with some Russians.
Thanks for putting it together. I now know to avoid the Chinese Navy at close range.
I realized just after you left that I didn't pay you for lunch. I owe you $7.00. I'll get it to you next time.
... However, as we discussed, that is the price your Antarctican admiral had to pay for fooling around with sturginium-powered portal technology...maybe next time he'll think twice about opening so many portals!
... And although the Chinese might have ruined your day, don't forget that none of them lived to tell about it.
I could also do the 23rd or 30th. Anyone have any issue or preference with those two dates?
What are we playing again?
For research purposes, I wouldn't mind playing a couple games of ST Attack Wing; Ruckdog and I will review it at some point for the podcast I'm sure, and it would be good if I could speak from experience. Same thing with SW Armada.
I should know later this week if I can game on the 30th. I'd could schlep over Armada stuff, open for X Wing or whatever.A SW Armada game for the 2nd half could be cool. And I wouldn't mind a fun X-wing scenario
Yo-yo strikes again! :-(
Hay work has been delayed, but we still need to redo the fencing around the new gate, so the flatbed can get back to the barn door. And that's all lining up for Saturday now, per Machelle.
So apologies again - my waffling will be punished by having to work with barb wire all day...
Hey Landlubber. I'm free the 20th if you want to show me how to play Halo Wars.
I live on the western edge of Littleton. Where is half way for you?
Cool. I'll check with them tomorrow to see when they have a free table in the afternoon.
Should be getting Halo Ground Command this week; planning to get the models assembled and painted a fast as I can. I doubt they'll be ready for Tacticon, but I think I should have them ready for the Spartan Games Day at the Haven on 17 September.

Base coated is probably good enough for Tacticon, given the new shiny factor :-)
For the Spartan day on the 17th, would anyone be interested in fighting some DW against the Martians? I can't stay into the evening, so a full-on mega-battle would be hard, but we could probably do a table of me against 2-3K of combined arms.
Halo Dirt Fight
Anyone else have input? Anyone else from the Springs crowd?
I've got a commitment to Bolt Action at Gamers Haven on the 15th BUT, is anyone planning on Ghenghis Con next month?
It's looking likely my STAW will get cancelled, but still questionable for me to get north - forecast now shows a snow front coming in just in time for Sunday lunch. 3-5" of snow just about everywhere.
I can bring a bridge made of my Deadzone terrain, but I don't know if I've got two feet worth and it does not look steampunky.
I will turn over planning for the April game day to someone else.
I'm not locked on FSA and would be open to whatever.
Works for me. SAGA has a bunch of campaign resolutions going so they may or may not be clear.
I'm good with either but Sorylians look really cool to me.
July is a no-go for me. My next likely available weekend is 12-13 August.
we could take the inaugural group plunge into Dystopian 2.5.
Or we could do the Obscure Games Day that we've discussed before
Anyone going to Tacticon?
Hey guys,
I just moved to Denver and I'd be interested in finding some people to play DW with. I'm pretty new to the game, but I have begun collecting RoF and I have the models from the Operation Shadow Hunter box. I'm excited to get to know some folks in this area!
Third Sunday is the 21st.
How many points of Syndicate are you able to field Dale?
Actually Starfire is a way, way old hex grid and cardboard counter game. I guess it could be used with minis. I only suggested it because we were talking about it last summer.
Ok, one full table will be taken up with Firestorm Armada—how much room do you need to play Full Thrust? Can we run FT and X-Wing at the same time on one table?
Warhawk, I’ll bring all my starfighters, I have quite a few and you’re welcome to use some of mine.
If someone could bring an extra space mat that would be great.

I'll bring mine

And I'll be there on Sunday too. I can bring some FT (been ages since I've played) and/or FSA ships. What factions are you bringing Zorper? What time? What points for FSA? Do we need another space mat?
Excited to be back and looking forward to getting together and enjoying some mutually assured destruction!
What's on the agenda for Sunday?
I'm about 50-50 if I can make it up now, should know by tonight.
Gosh Darnit Dale!!!! ;) ;)
As of right now I should be able to make it. Can bring my armada with and can learn right along with everyone else.
Greg/Todd, was your Halo game part of your campaign?
Dakkar! Don't know if the grapevine made it to you, but we ended up taking out both the Imperial and Victory Star Destroyers! Our MC80 Cruiser lived on to fight another day! Thanks Warhawk for letting us use your models and test your Rebel build. I particular enjoyed General Dodanna's ability to pick which crits you took!
Looking forward to playing this more.
Yea was reading more last night and we did quote a few things wrong lol. Like can only shoot with a ship twice. Once from 2 different arcs or twice from the same on 2 different units. Then there is crits where you only get one face up crit card no matter how many crits you roll.
If we play a few more games (and enjoy them with the REAL rules), I might get the Correllian Conflict campaign expansion. Maybe we could swing the campaign?
Was also thinking of ways to tie armada, xwing and legion into a larger campaign. But haven't really figured out a good way to do it just yet.I bet Legion prompts some rules for that about 6 months in, or by the time of GenCon events :-)

I've been thinking about this as well. If we REALLY wanted to go detailed, we could pick up the Rebellion board game and use that as the strategic map, so to speak.
I'd be totally onboard trying to set up a campaign linked between Armada, Legion, and X-Wing. The one limiting factor we have right now is number of players with models. I.e., I have plenty of X-Wing, no Armada, and only the Legion starter set. One idea is that we could designate specific players to conduct specific combat--for example, Alex and Mark and myself on the Rebellion side, where Mark is the Armada commander, Alex is the fighter commander, and I'm the ground commander (or something like that), and then there would be three players on the Imperial team as well. Could be really fun. Would probably take months to play, but that's cool.
X-Wing games could provide special objectives and create bonuses for the Armada and Legion games.
~Destroy this Imperial Shuttle to deny an important crew member on a star destroyer.~
~Get the jump on that rebel star fighter patrol to clear the way for an advanced strike team to land on X planet.~
Stuff like that could be neat.
Could/should we use it as a game AND a campaign map? Or would that be too cumbersome?
Quickdraw, those are some great examples, and I like the idea of using starfighter combat to influence the fleet and ground battles. Off the top of my head:
-Destroy a freighter convoy to deny one side or the other the use of specific upgrades (i.e. grenades, ion weapons, etc) in the next Legions battle
-assault an Imperial comms satellite (I've already written up this scenario) to give the Rebel fleet commander a boost to initiative in the next Armada game
-win a victory over the opponent to give your fleet initiative in the first three turns of the next Armada game
Etc, etc.
We could build a table with several mission types (like the ones you mentioned and the ones I listed above), and whenever there is an X-Wing game the player whose side has initiative chooses what mission he wants to play. I thought about tying the table to a D6 roll, but then you'd have to bring everything for every possible scenario to each game (shuttles, freighters, etc), which could be cumbersome.
In addition it could be cool to include a monetary system for upgrades/repairs.

There's a whole campaign system for X-Wing for a group of Rebel pilots to co-op through AI-script-run Imperial Scenarios, and after each game they get upgrade "experience". I'd guess by now they have an imperial side version, but we could use those to guide our upgrades ... have all our X-Wing games involve set Squadrons and see how they advance, lose pilots, etc
I'll find the material online later this week.
the next game day would be 15 April--I haven't made the reservations yet with Collectormania but that's what I was planning. If more people can make it the following weekend, we can move it, but I'll be out of town that weekend.
I'll be in Denver, but for an annual comics and arcade extravaganza that I undertake with Troy each year. Basically, we try to recreate a typical nerd summer day from the early 80's, except its not practical to ride our bikes everywhere. :-)
Sounds like fun. Do you hide your smartphones?
What is this Dirt Fight?
Halo Ground Command.
