Falklands 1982 1/2400
« on: May 05, 2012, 03:15:03 am »
This will be a slow long term project often paused to allow other projects to proceed.  It was not a planned project, I originally bought Hermes to make as the Indian carrier Viraat and General Belgrano was going to be the Chilean cruiser O'Higgins.  All are Sea Wulf except Belgrano which is GHQ.
Thus far we have Hermes, Atlantic Conveyor, Bristol, Conqueror, Valiant and Courageous.

HMS Fearless.

And the Argentinean Drummond and General Belgrano.

Wow, this is a bit of an ambitious project you have laid on! I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the Conveyor.

Yep,  that's why I declared it a long slow project.

Not too sure I'd be keen on painting them, but I do have some 1/1200 super entendards on the way

Have  made some more progress on this one though.  All ships Sea Wulf and they have now released an actual Belgrano and she is on the way along with Invincible.

HMS Hermes

ARA Drummond

Atlantic Conveyor

British Tamar, need to repaint the stack on this one, somehow got the idea she was a Shell ship instead of BP  :banghead:

HMS Bristol

And HM Submarines Conqueror and Courageous

Finally got some more done on this project.  HMS Illustrious, just got to remember where I put the aircraft now.

Looking good! Do you have any rules in mind to use with these minis, or are they going to be display only?

I'll have to looks those up, I'm not familiar with them. I would also point you in the direction of Cold Steel, which was a fan-run effort to port the Axis & Allies Naval Miniatures rules into the Cold War via the Falklands:
