Title: Star Trek Ascendency Space Stations
Post by: Ruckdog on October 02, 2016, 01:48:24 pm
I've started working on the space station models I picked up at Gencon for the GF9 Star Trek Ascendancy board game:

I used my air brush to base coat them, and I'm pretty happy with the results!

VERY cool stuff. I hope those get a retail release.

We played our first full game yesterday. My Feds made a bid to take two Romulan colonies and Qonos, in order to stop the Romulan juggernaut before they hit 5-A. And would've gotten away with it except for 2 Klingons ships that wouldn't die :-)

Nice! Are you going to do any detailing on them, or leave them as they are?

Dale...I'm totally up for trying Ascendancy sometime...

I'm going to wash and dry-brush them at a minimum. I might pick out a few details as well; there are some prominent panels on the Federation stations for example, and the Klingon symbols on their stations are just begging for some attention ;).

Are you coming down for the Haven Anniversary on the 29th? I'm queuing up a game, still deciding when to start.

I am, yes. I was planning on running a DW "Sink the Bismark" game, but I haven't submitted anything yet. How long does Ascendancy take to play?

How long does Ascendancy take to play?

2 hours or so, depending on learning. Shorter than Firefly :-)

Here is a quick update on the stations. I've gotten the washing and dry-brushing done. All that's really left is to spruce up the bases, and they are done, I'd say!

Greg, if you get some Ascendency play time, we should totally review it on the show ;).

Or Future-Greg, after 200 games, could bombard his notes with a Tachyon Pulse to generate anti-time particles, sending them back in time for current show discussion.

It might generate an anomaly that destroys life on earth a billion years in the past, but that's not our timeline's worry :-)

After a little drybrushed Boltgun on the station models, I'm calling them done!

That makes my head hurt.

Ruckdog, the stations look great!

Sorry, posted after watching ALL GOOD THINGS :-)

Ruckdog, you've made me certain I need this bling for my set :-)
