Un petit projet pour le Canada

So, since Brigade came out with their recent resin airships, I've been working on something based on a Spartan render that was not produced as a miniature. My take on the Quebec Class Assault Carrier -

Interesting.  Looking forward to see where you take it.

Nice! I've been following your progress on FB. Thanks for posting here!

I love the idea of using an upside down cruiser for the gondola/superstructure.

I love the idea of using an upside down cruiser for the gondola/superstructure.

Seemed like the easiest approach, though removing the superstructure to fit the tube fuselage was a pain.

well, I can't share any pictures at present but . . . Good news and bad news.

Bad news; Since someone on FB created an STL file for a much closer creation, the chap I was building this for decided to go ahead with one of those. can't blame him - It's a gorgeous piece of work and well worth searching for it on the DW FB pages. he shared it several times. . . . But well, you know.

Good news: I have all but finished mine, just waiting on cash to build up for some props from Shapeways to do the last touch. I will be running it as a Redtail Class for the Royal Australian and NZ fleet, with modifications to carry either four Crocodile Assault boats or a good supply of mines. I'm pleased enough with it and will get pictures to you as soon as certain inconveniences resolve themselves.

FINALLY! My package from Shapeways arrived this week, and with the clear, sunny weather after an Antarctic ice storm ravaged the country last week, I got this brute finished.

It's a little rough, however I'm pleased with it overall. Big thanks to Brigade Models UK for the dirigible ( Which is also the basis for another couple of projects i am embarking on ) and one of the local players who willingly sacrificed an excess Agincourt for my Frankenstienian machinations. Pretty much complete, apart from some weathering ( the usual brush of thinned GW  Nuln Oil )
