Title: Quick question on AD

Hey all. Just purchased a few starter sets. Haven't played before and have delved into the 2.5 rulebook. Lots of good lore and background but trying to wrap my mind around the rules. One thing I think I have right but want to be sure is attack dice.

Basically you measure attack dice per weapon and not for the entire ship correct? Even if they are the same type of weapon. That is unless of course you decide to use linked fire. So for example, the Plato Cruiser has 2 energy turrets. Each is 3 AD. So you could either make 2 attacks with 3 AD each or make one attack with 5? This is assuming both turrets have LoS. And if there is a squadron of 3 Plato cruisers with LoS on a ship they could make 6 attacks with 3 AD each or make one attack with 11 AD?

Thanks for any help clearing this up. Want to maybe do a test game tonight and want to get it right.
