Operation Galvanic Campaign
« on: April 26, 2014, 12:10:33 am »
This topic will be the place to find downloads and specifics about the Operation Galvanic campaign.
The campaign is geared to be a flexible way of playing a variety of scenarios in a loose structure that will allow players to compete over time toward a campaign goals measured in VPs earned.
Players in the campaign can choose to play the scenarios in order, play pick up games, selected scenarios or any combination.
However The scenarios will generate rewards in the form of additional capabilities or ships to use in further scenarios.
The scenario range from simple to complex.
There are still things to resolve for the campaign.
Some of the scenarios could use more play testing.
Starting a campaign will be very close to the release of version 2 of the DW rules. Waiting seems likel a reasonable idea.\The scenarios may need some updating to adjust to new stats, MARs and rules.
So I will try to post the Campaign overview and rules here

I need to update the scenarios for version 2.0.
This is quite doable. 2.0 is easy to use for scenarios.
The Historicon reservation did not come through. I am now trying to set up an open game.
Sigh
Busy week on this stuff.

Due to a lack of players available, I had put it on hold.
But with some games more likely in the near future I can finish them quickly.

Let me know if you need some help! Also, I should be able to hose the files for you still. I apologize for falling down on that earlier. My schedule is a little less crazy now, so I should be able to do it. I have a lot of bandwidth and disk space on the MBS web account that I would love to start using for stuff like this  8).

Ruckdog, I will indeed like to post them here. I am updating the campaign framework and scenarios.
The scenarios can of course be used independently. I will finish the framework this weekend and submit it to be posted here for response and input. The scenarios will follow though not necessarily in campaign sequence order as some are easier to update than others.
I hope to get Mysterious Island done this weekend as well.
Note TAC Cards and Secondary objectives optional.
Scenario titles, more or less in order:
Mysterious Island- Compete to take a (notionally CoA) island that has a secret laboratories developing tech technologies. The winner can steal a prototype capability which can be applied to one squadron in their fleet. Can be played with a judge or third player (CoA player would have his own benefits, Players who lost the the battle can fight it again with a different opponent)
Take the Straight - Compete to gain control of a critical straight necessary to secure your supply routes into the area. Winner gets to establish a forward base capable of providing Land Based Support Air Wings and more munitions.
Convoy Raid - Raid  a convoy with the aim of prizing ships and destroying the rest. Can be played between two powers or the defender can be a mercenary force protecting local commerce. If played between powers each side can permanently gain valuable operational assets and increased logistics for the next battle. (asymmetric TF point sizes)

Protect the Lady -  Escort an addition of a Dreadnought, Superfortress or Fleet Carrier to your Theater Fleet through a gauntlet of attackers. Defender must exit with at least 50% of the Lady's HP remaining . Scenario VPs for each HP on the Lady. (Note non-standard TF configurations and asymmetric TF Points sizes)

Operational Base - Players fight over control of a port. Winner must drive the loser from the field (attain minimum objectives  and  fleet orders). Winner gains significant Scenario VPs and increases limits on Munitions (possibly eliminate limits), gains additional Local Air. Loser can mitigate Victors gains by destruction of port and air facilities.

Sounds good! What you have so far sounds interesting. If you have a Word document or PDF of them, I can upload them and post a link in this thread.

My campaign rules are ready. It includes summaries of the scenarios.
A bit much but game by game quite manageable.
It could use more editing and some more play testing.
I need to send it MadDrB Directly to get it posted

I Have the draft for the campaign rules, and 5 scenarios ready.
Scenario 1 Mysterious Island, players fight each other and the island defenders to gain important technology
Scenario 2 Take the Straight, secure your line of supply through a critical straight , or degrade your opponent's ability to operate in the area.
Scenario 3 Convoy Raid, grab some much needed supplies and some possible extra ships.
Scenario 4 Island Hopping-Establish a Forward base-Fight another power for control of a small local port and air strip. Before you can go on the offensive you need to secure this base to gain local air support and extend your fighting capability.
Scenario 5 Port Raid, attacker attempts to inflict critical damage on an opponent's Forward Base. Reducing his supplies and the size of his fleet- before delivering the fatal blow.
Scenario 6 All In, the final battle between two Theater Fleets.

I will be posting these on a Google drive.

Scenario 1: I have the mysterious island.  Dr. Singh to the Control Tower!

Scenario 2: Might need a few more low islands.  Let me know if so.

Scenario 3: Have some convoy ships.

Scenario 4: Got the islands for this one.  Even a full airfield.

Scenario 5: Hmmm, port.

Scenario 6: Final Battle. Sounds fun.

When you want to set it up? ;)

We can try one at E&E this Saturday. If more people show more than one scenario could be tested.
I will post the scenarios to a Google drive the next two days.
