So innocent looking... So very brutal for a Carrier! Will you pair her with a Shiva?

I'm reminded too how ridonkulous it is that this ship and the others are STILL not in the ORbats.

Fantastic Stephan, another in in the long line of Aquan capital ships coming out of your shipyard.

Mark,

I grow them like Sea Monkeys.......   ;)

Dale, great, now I'm painting up some Shiva.  I'm thinking of running a squadron of 2 in place of the Sulan.  Those Shiva are nasty with a 5/7 DR/CR, 5 HP, 6 Crew, 4 PD, and 2 SH!

2x Shiva plus a Sulis make a fantastic Squadron. That means potentially 18d Fwd Beam at 20", 9-12d Broadsides, and 9d Torps.
Plus you can peek out the Sulis from cover, and fire the Shivas at full power from effective hiding.

But they're also the best helpers for the Oannes, Raising the fore beam to 18, and Torps to 10.

A squad like that would replace the Sulans admirably, but you lose the horror of those Grav weapons. :-)

That's the beauty of two lists.  I'll have one list with the Sulans just for those pesky Terrans.  The Sulis just seems like too much of a gimmick for my taste.  I'd prefer to put the points towards getting full squadrons of Frigates.

I also prefer running the Shiva by themselves instead of as a accompaniment to the Oannes from a flexibility perspective.  They'll most likely run up with the Oannes, but having them as a separate activation lets me retarget that firepower if needed.

HA!  I think you've coined an new term of endearment/insult in reference to Aquans.  I propose we use "Sea Monkeys" as frequently as we're able in conversations going forward...

"Stephan is running his Sea Monkeys again".
"Dale's spiders made sushi of Stephan's Sea Monkeys".
"Lizards and spiders and Sea Monkey's, oh my!".

Faced it on the table today. I kept thinking it was a battleship, and was pleasantly surprised when it would shoot and Stephan wasn't buying more dice to have enough for the roll. Still a beautiful model though.
