Title: Dark Expanse
Post by: Ruckdog on December 17, 2016, 11:21:17 pm
So, I've recently gotten back into a browser-based 4x game called Dark Expanse:

I first started playing this game about 5 years ago when it was in Beta. I've been away for a couple of years, but I'm getting back into it if anyone wants to join me. And hey, its free!

Looks intriguing. Do you play in the Andromeda or Black Eye galaxy?

I play in both, actually. Andromeda is a very slow-burn affair; you can check it once a day and be good.  The Black Eye galaxy was put into place after about the first year to offer a more accelerated experience; everything happens 4 times as fast. So, if a ship takes 4 hours to build in Andromeda, it will only take 1 hour build in Black Eye. This accelerated time scale means it is often better to check Black Eye multiple times a day.

Black Hole is also technically PvP while Andromeda is PvE, though reduced player counts (down about 80% since I played a few years ago) mean that both are effectively PvE now.
