FSA Armored Train
« on: March 11, 2013, 09:39:40 pm »
As a rail fan, I was very excited to see this:

The armored train concept was always a cool one to me, so this has a lot of appeal. Not sure how I feel about them being on tokens, though. I might have to see about liberating them...

I feel like I just had this idea, and now they are doing it!

It is cool.  I guess it makes two trains, or one very long one...

My Usual Opponent picked up some WWII German armored train pieces in 3mm which seemed quite in scale with the rest of the DW landships--they came without bases as well....  He hasn't finished painting them yet.

Of course, I'm really interested by the torpedo boat tokens for the naval side of things.  But I can always appreciate an armored train in a steampunk game.

Does anyone here have or know of a good shop in the states that you can get the pre-orders without going thru Spartan Games.
The exchange rate seems like a waste and I know dealers get a break on shipping due to bulk ordering.

As I was, Just found it at the War Store. Searched Spartan Games and came up with nothing.  But, just in case, Is the War Store everyone's Recommended place of acquisition?

I find accuracy increases exponentially when more rounds are placed down range.

I highly recommend The War Store. I have made numerous purchases through them over the years, and I've always gotten great service from them. They are almost a de facto distribution partner for Spartan Games; for the last few Gencons, it has been The War Store booth that has had the show-specific models from Spartan. TWS also seems like it gets early wind of new releases; there have been times when pre-orders for new DW models have popped up on TWS's pre-order page before even the preview email from Spartan comes out!

Sounds good,

Wanted one of the new Ryuo Class Robots.  Looked like it will be a hoot to put together.
It is puzzling why the other Factions got the Biped Mechs and the Blazing Sun goth the quads and the Dr. Octopus look .

I think the biped robots in the game look cool, but they're ordinary--I really dig the Japanese quads, and I'm pleased the medium and smalls feature the same design.  And the new command vehicle with all the tentacles?

Sure, the FSA armored train looks cool, but it's still conventional.  Just wait until the Japanese land train comes out!

It is not much of a puzzle why the Japanese got 4 legged walkers. "Walkers shall have a minimum of four legs..." is a design requirement of the fictional Blazing Sun military. They already have big walkers with 4 and 6 legs---the little ones are just following suit.

"Japanese Land Train".. :D ..it will look like a centipede.
1:1200 - One inch equals One Hundred feet...

Hee hee, that would be a sight to see! It would be tough to resist the urge to make it look like a bullet train with guns, but then again that whole design concept is pretty much covered by the EotBS navy anyway ;).
