Dystopian Wars / Re: 2.0 Tournament 1000 points KOB list with Dread Castle
« on: November 17, 2017, 12:56:45 pm »
Ok, so how it went? I ended up in the middle of the field with this list:

1x Windsdor
1x Avenger + 1 Bastion escort
2x ROA Tender-Cruiser
1x ROA Victoria Monitor
4x ROA Protector frigate

Basicaly all depended on how I rolled with Windsdor. I lost when rolled poorly, won when rolled good.

I will not be fielding Windsdor any time soon, probably only in Fleet Action only.

Dystopian Wars / 2.0 Tournament 1000 points KOB list with Dread Castle

Hi guys,

we will be holding a 2.0 version 1000 points naval core tournament where Dreadbots and allies are recommended as everybody would like to field their monsters at least once :-) We are all experienced players and are avare of what format we have chosen :-)

Nevertheless, any recommendation what to field together with MOP? I have Australians which I can use as they are a little bit cheaper than Brittish but I am fine with Kob models as well (I do not have heavy bombers, Regent and Monarch and the last submarine box).

Thanks, I have some ideas but never fielded or played against dreadbots before.

Dystopian Wars / Re: Blog Post: Carriers in DW 2.5
« on: September 02, 2017, 03:39:36 am »
Hi Ruckdog, perfect article, this is exactly what DW 2.5 needs right now - couple of articles like this covering all aspects of the game.

Two issues I have with 2.5 and what I would like to change in some time in 2.51 (community) rules:

1) when SAS is damaged, people tend to avoid firing on them at all costs and thus prevent oponent to relaunch them again .... this just feel stupid
2) Local support SAS being only fighters - is this really necessary? Just place them next to the carrier and in the first round you can change them to any other type of SAS you want. This rule does not serve to its purpose at all and right now it only promotes carriers more, fleets without them become rare and it is shame.
3) large carriers launching 2x4 wings - right now 4-strong squadron is "weaker" then 5-strong, this is obvious. It does not feel right to me. I would suggest that carrier which can launch 2x4 could have possibity launch one super SAS insted (two 2x4 SAS next to each other acting like 1 SAS, e.i. one activation etc.). Such squadron would play like 5-strong SAS with other planes being reserves so it can sustain casualties. Maybe an option to have 2 bombing/torpedo runs instead of 1 will be an option too. What do you think?

Sorry for typos, I have to write it in 2 minutes with kids jumping on me :-)

It must be American Josh (good to know he is here though) but I think UK Josh was responsible for Fleet Action).

Dystopian Wars / Fleet Action - FAQ, updates
« on: August 29, 2017, 03:20:22 am »
As for the last year I have shifted my attention from DW to Fleet Action - and I want to keep it playing until 2.5 is consolidated.

Any other fellow Fleet Action players here? I know there are typos in ORBATs which needs to be corrected.

Anybody has direct contact to Spartan Josh (Josh who was responsible for Fleet Action)?

Speaking of seeking survivors

Does anyone know who or how to contact the creator of this

Hi, another DW refugee here. OHM is a member of our Czech community, I can contact him very easily or should I make him to register here as well? :-)
