Ruckdog's Covenant (DW)

(1/2) > >>

Ruckdog:
I finished up my first squadron of cruisers for my Covenant fleet! These are the first minis I've finished since getting home from deployment. More to follow!

Ruckdog:
Got more of my Antarcticians finished!

Zac:
Very nice. Crisps lines on the models as well

Covertwalrus:

Love them all, Ruckdog! The Fresnels look very nice in that blue scheme, and the amount of work you've done ion the Pericles really makes it a show-stopper. Nice to see Keplers lookign so good, too - One of my favourite CoA models, both in looks and the way it plays.

Thanks! This scheme was a bit of an experiment on my part to play around with masking and airbrushing a multi-tone pattern. I'm happy with how it came out!

Thanks! The Fresnels were an interesting challenge to paint...it took me a while to figure out how I wanted to approach the energy projectors on top and along the sides. Ultimately, I went for sort of a minimalist approach. On the downside, there is some detail there that I'm not highlighting by leaving it painted black. On the plus side, the final result is visually very striking! One thing I specifically wanted to try and stay away from was the "green haze" approach that Spartan's studio painter took. I just felt it made the models look too indistinct.
