Title: April 2017 Meet-Up
Post by: Ruckdog on April 08, 2017, 05:52:51 pm
Hey all! With the impending release of Version 2.5, it might be fun to do a final 2.0 gaming session. Anyone interested? I'd be free to do it the weekend of April 20, 21, and 22, as well as the weekend of April 27, 28, and 29. For location, I'm willing to host, but if we have more than a couple of you interested in coming it might be better to meet at a store as well, probably either Huzzah or E&E. Thoughts?

Sunday, April 23rd, would be great for me.  Next best would be Friday, April 21st, after work.  I would also be happy to host (in Reston) or travel to anyone's house or any game store.

Looks like we have a vote for the 23rd!

Gah, I have a game scheduled for the 23rd at Huzzah hobbies. I will see if I can change it. Otherwise the 28th would be better.

My Game with adrian at Huzzah is on the 22nd, so I can do both.  ;D
I can ask Adrian if wants to join.

That would be great!

So far, it looks like the 23rd might be our leading candidate. We should probably start narrowing down the locations somewhat. I would definitely like to host here, but we could look at one of the stores as a back-up location.

I have no problem with doing it at your place, but if we get four will there be table space? It would great to see Last Rites and his crew.

I have the space and stuff to handle up to 3 games at a time, if need be. It would just require setting up a temporary table  ;)

I can wait for others, however I would be interested in knowing if there is amy preferred fleet size, etc.
I have been looking at the Corsican incident scenarios and they look interesting.
Let me know if there is anything besides my gleets you want me bring-(extra rulebooks, terrain, stuff)

Gleets? Phones! I fixed that but apparently not completely. Fat fingered has real meaning here. You never know when you might need a gleet.

 ;D

I'm up for just about anything. Probably no more than 1250 points though. I'd be game to try some of  the Corsican scenarios too. As for terrain, I think we are good unless we wind up with a full house.

Just played a 1250 game limited to 7 Activations each. (So CAP can be taken but can't be separated until there is room.)
He took an FSA Dread and two HBBs. He won against a mixed EIMC and Black Wolf fleet  an Althea BB, Death Bringer and a Fobes blimp for the larges. He had a pretty big power advantage. But it helped speed the game up.

So the 1250 point game tonight  was, despite the luck frustrations, interesting and fun. Pretty tense match up. The Vaubon was kinda overkill but the Prussian guns  and lethal strike were humbling. It did look like I would have been able to meet my objective. Ruckdog had a bit tougher goal with 70%.
Ramming: a Ramming model does get the "crushing Impact" MAR--The CR becomes the DR when rolling for damage.

Ruckdog--Islands trade: I have an extra Cherbourg (painted) and I have a complete new in box French Fortifications box.
The Bombard boxes I have are EoTBS and RC- not very useful here, but keep in mind if we do a Tournament. I have a number (possibly ten) extra RoF SAW tokens. I also have two busts, which you are more than welcome to, regardless.
When I get the kickstarter I will have an extra Adler and Koenigsberg ( as far as I ma concerned , one can never have enough of those. I do have 6 Danish Korsors I would trade. If you get FSA let me know about extra models to fill out squadrons, I have an extra Lee, extra A-17s, extra Reveres and Augustas, Extra SAWs
