++Ryushi carriers sighted on radar++

Quickdraw:
I picked up the Ryushi battle carrier.
First thoughts...fantastic model. I'm very impressed with the detail and I think it will really become a great centerpiece when painted up.
The cruisers are much smaller then I realized but the details are great.
I'm still waiting on the fleet box but once it comes in I think I will be pretty happy with the completed battle group. I'm really intrigued by how they will play.

Dakkar:
Ryushi are an odd-duck. Their Carrier nature means closing quickly is the best way to leverage the SRS advantage, before targetted strikes or lucky crits can disable their launch bays.
But their best firepower is in broadsides at Beam RB2, i.e. between 10" and 20" and oblique to them. Which makes it very tricky to both use that and stay within the 12" SRS strike range of the enemy. It's just weird they have no Quick Launch.

And once they're in that knife-range, they're not specially resilient versus Boarding Actions - high PD but very low AP. Other than perhaps devoting SRS capacity to interceptors...

They make a nice partner to Hawker, who have NO SRS to speak of.

Quickdraw:
Good thoughts! I'm pretty interested. I think they will be a difficult fleet to master.

Stephan:
I can't wait to see them on the table!

Landlubber:
Really like the look of those ships, Chris--can't wait to see how you paint them up!
