Title: [POLL] What do you think of Tabletop Simulator?
Post by: Ruckdog on February 10, 2022, 05:45:34 pm
Hi all! Landlubber and I have recently been using Tabletop Simulator (TTS) to play a couple of games. You can find recordings of the Halo Fleet Battles game we played using the program in the Space section. We are both really enjoying the experience, which makes me wonder if anyone else here on the forum uses it to play games. I'd love to get another forum campaign going using TTS!

I actually watched one of those- I was very impressed with the program, it does seem to do for tabletop games what Roll20 does for RPGs, though I'm not keen on using it just yet.

Plus which I enjoyed the game itself :)

I know what it is, but am not 100% interested in climbing the learning curve to learn it AND the game rules.  Plus, my computer is old and slow.  :)

However, I can be convinced otherwise.

I dismissed TTS when I first heard about it several years ago, but with all the support independent developers are putting into their projects now it is a totally different proposition and worth looking into.  The only reservation I have would be learning the interface.

I've used it once, to play Root.  Was a bit difficult learning the game and the interface simultaneously.  I am interested in playing something I'm already familiar with so I can focus on learning the interface better.
