I expect rules for shore batteries, land based air and amphibious operations but once those forces are 'feet dry', there are plenty of rule sets available for all periods.

I'm just not sure Spartan gets "it". This new game may be a great game with neat components but it has been announced on the heels of an FSA kickstarter initial push while many if not most hardcore DW fans are still waiting on Kickstarters and new preorder stuff and Planetfall and Legions fans have been feeling very abandoned and Halo/Halo Ground folks are if not abandoned, feeling a creeping silence.

Spartan is better lately at some communications but even their hardcore fans get irked at the constant ADHD behavior.

I sent mine in. Essentially I said their performance on the Dystopian KS has a lot to do with how any subsequent KS efforts are viewed. While I am not particularly irritated by the missed delivery on the DW kickstarter (I fully expected a miss on that), the fact remains the biggest backers have not received anything yet. Until my DW stuff is in hand, I will not toss added money at Spartan.

I think the stats are still very much in flux. For example, I think the Ilka squid is still in the running for the aquatic assault MAR.

They seem to be a very interim set as they are subject to significant changes. A lot of the problem children such as the FSA Washington (too awful at any cost) or the French Tourbillon (way too good and too cheap) have yet to be adjusted.

I am really enjoying this out of the ordinary campaign. The Baltic is one part of WW2 Naval I've rarely seen played.

I agree that any professionally done Trek (or any other good Sci-fi) is a win for the community. I can't believe a few fans with out of joint noses will dictate the fate of the series.

On the bright side, Dark Matters and Killjoys are starting back up soon.

Depending on scale and preference lots of options out there. The old board game Ironclads and its' expansion port perfectly to miniatures at 1/2400 but be can also run on hex gridded mats with 3" hexes in 1/1200 or larger at 1/600.

Other quite common rules for the period are "Hammerin Iron", "Iron and "Fire", and "Smoke on the Water".

Iron and Fire is the more complex with Hammerin Iron the simplest. I find Smoke on the Water a good middle ground.

Does it do shell by shell resolution or accumulated over x period of time? The GQ system assigns the values based on, IIRC, 5 minutes of firing.

Assuming my granddaughter does not arrive early (scheduled May 22) next weekend could work. Mothers Day is Sunday so Saturday is likely more optimal.
