General Quarters III - I'm OK with VSF and SciFi but historicals are always my first choice.

I heartily concur on the series. The whole trilogy is a good read for anyone interested in the Pacific.

First DLC adding two new ships per side is coming out soon as well.

Dystopian Wars / Re: DWars fluff is dead, long live Warcradle

I think the fluff structure got a bit creaky as the new factions/mercs were shoehorned into the base game. A fresh start seems like a good idea.

General Discussion / Re: Looking for WW2 naval history book recomendations

An author named Vincent P. O'Hara writes extensively at a theater/navy level on, for example, the Med.

James D. Hornfischer has several very readable books on the US Navy.

Samuel Elliot Morrison's study of the US Navy in WW2 is a classic multi-volume work but pricey as a whole.

Getting enough folks at my local shop hooked on GQ3 Fleet Action Imminent that now we have regular games scheduled. A close second was actually playing the full Salamis scenario from Poseidon's Warriors even though the Persians won.

Take a look at Sovereign of the Seas by Columbia Games for the map portion. GW's old Trafalgar isn't awful with a few mods and there is always Heart of Oak.  David Manley's Grand Fleets (IIRC?) is good for big battles.

Great look as always. I really want to see your rules.

Have you seen the Battle Stations! Battle Stations! rules? For really huge actions they are the best at fast resolution I've seen.

No idea but I'd expect the folks hosting the Spartan site got stiffed as well and shut down the pages.

Good looking stuff.  Listening to EDR with the folks that bought the DW IP, I think the game is going to enjoy a renaissance starting sometime next year and your 2.0 games are likely close to where they end up.

I am very optimistic  :) based on EDR#7. Very good interview and the folks at War Cradle/Wayland seem to have a very level headed approach.

Nice AAR. Did you make any homebrew modifications to the rules?

Tumbling Dice - 1/2400 Ancient, Spanish Armada/Renaissance, Anglo-Dutch, Age of Sail, Victorian Age of Steam and Pre-Dreadnought. Also 1/600 Aircraft and 1/1200 flags which work fine with 1/2400

Navwar - Massive range of 1/3000 from AOS, Lissa Pre-dreadnought through Modern including aircraft. Very old ordering system (fax/email - no cart) but fast processing. Truly massive WW1 - WW2 ranges.

Viking Forge - Very decent range of Pre-dreadnought through Modern including some not done by others in 1/2400

C in C - Modest range of very good but clean castings in 1/2400 WW1 through Modern. Also very nice 1/4800 North Atlantic WW2 castings but very limited
