Evening one and all,

If you like short snappy blog posts about non Naval Wargaming, then this won't be for you !

Last week we finally managed to get the 2016 Naval Campaign started a year later than planned. After Jutland shenanigans I needed a short break from Nautical gaming but suitably rested it's back.

If you haven't seen a YG Campaign before I run a series of linked scenarios covering a short period of history, his time we are in the Baltic in late summer and autumn 1941. Their are two other full Campaigns to enjoy on YG if you like.

The post is quite long as it covers everything you would need to play the Campaign as well as giving a detailed account of the first small scenario for your delectation and my memory.

Hope you enjoy, either play along or chuckle at the exploits of our participants.

Regards Ken

Very nice report! It was well written, and the pictures are very dramatic. This campaign looks like a lot of fun, and I really like that you picked one of the lesser known theaters for it. Thanks for that link to WG vault! I will download that file post-haste. Also, I really like the thread idea to divide up the play area; I am going to file that one in the back of my head and may use it myself sometime.

Cheers,

I  run a similar Campaign every year and I am always on the look out for similar ideas. Something too big just becomes unwieldy but there has to be enough to keep players interested over 4 or 5 linked scenarios.

I have a Campaign planned for the WW2 Aleutian Islands Campaign and the North Sea as well as a WW1 North Sea game should keep us going for a while.

Thank you for some really useful information to go with a great write up. The smoke/fire pillars are terrific. How do you make them?
