Halo returns
« on: January 05, 2024, 03:20:06 pm »
Mantic has the rights from 343 Industries to produce a new Halo game with previews coming up in March, which I assume means Adepticon...
https://www.manticgames.com/news/on-the-12th-day-of-xmas-special-announcement/

My predictions are...
1.  Larger scale miniatures ground skirmish, not compatible with Spartan's HGC...

2.  No Vault support due to license control... (please prove me wrong Mantic)

3.  And no HFB replacement, until at least 2025...

...anyone else's hopes and dreams?
If my wife asks, I only spent half as much as I wanted to...

Lets hope HFB doesn't take a long as WarCradle's Fire Storm Armada!

Just heard an Adepticon interview with Ronnie Renton from Mantic, he diplomatically steered the conversation away from both a fleet scale Halo game as well as Vault stl options, so those two predictions look like they were spot on.

The initial release scheduled is for a small scale skirmish game, heavily influenced by their earlier game Deadzone, focusing mainly on Spartans and Elites, but Ronnie did say all of their plans are accounting for many additional game modes, including Grunts, so that is a slight positive.  Possibly we will see boarding actions in the future, as opposed to replicating just the multiplayer experience.
