Ruckdog, we didn't even have all the boxes unpacked before we made our first visit! There are some great gaming stores down in your neck of Virginia. I used to frequent Atlantis games when I was stationed at Yorktown and Virginia Beach.

I have a question of what custom ships y'all are using for Cruel Seas? I am really interested in having one or two Corvette or Frigate sized vessels to run as screening vessels for a convoy.

His 3D printer Cruel Seas models look great. Once we get settled in Northern Virginia I hope to find a 3D print on demand and start getting some of his ships. I am dying to find someone who prints a WWII period TREASURY Class cutter or a THETIS class cutter. I have a hankering to run convoys in the North Atlantic.

I just finished "The Coast Guard in World War I" by Alex Larzelere. It focuses the six Revenue Cutter Service cutters transferred to the US Navy during the War as Derelict Destroyers and the Revenue Cutter Service aviators at Naval
Air Station, Ile Tudy, France flying anti-submarine patrol in HS-1 aircraft.

A very nice comparison! I have been eyeing this at Eagle and Empire.

Modeling Q&A / Re: Army painter vs Vallejo
« on: September 10, 2020, 05:33:33 pm »
Depends what I am painting. As I find myself painting more miniatures I use more Vallejo paints if anything due to the positives from so many wargamers.

Finescale modeling I use Tamiya and Humbrol.

The pivot to the Pacific has been slow with the parallels between Second World War Pacific Theater and today being fairly apparent.

Now more then ever we will have to rely on strong allies in the Japanese, Australians, British, Canadians and Kiwis.

Roll Call / Ahoy!

Hello all! My name is Sean and just getting settled in a new duty station in Washington D.C. My gaming background started in the 90s primarily focused on RPGs and FASA games like Battletech and Crimson Skies. In the last several years I have fallen into X-wing Miniatures and Star Wars Armada and in the last year I have fallen in love with historicals, primarily Cruel Seas.

I read compulsively when I can with a focus on military sci-fi, some fantasy and Naval/Military History.
