The Showcase / Alice's Solarians... Finally
« on: June 28, 2015, 11:48:21 pm »
It's taken a while and a few misfires but I finally have a color-scheme I'm happy with.  I tried to keep it simple; primer white, yellow wash, grey, and a black wash over the grey areas.  It's got a slight shine since I hit it with a quick matte varnish to protect the paint.  Now, as soon as I finish this commission I'm working on, I can crank out the rest.  I'm getting there Quickdraw.

Uncharted Seas / Orc ships sighted in discount bin
« on: February 28, 2015, 08:57:04 am »
Was at Gamer's Haven yesterday and saw 3 blisters packs of Orc ships in their discount/mark, down bin if anyone is interested.  Sorry I don't know much about the game so I cant tell you what class they are.  The bin is in the back corner of the store between Flames of War and Fantasy Flight displays across from the Bolt-Action.

Firestorm Armada / Sorylian / Dindrenzi
« on: February 16, 2015, 01:38:06 am »
Looking to take the FA plunge and have narrowed it down to either Sorylian or Dindrenzi.  Love both models sets.  Any thoughts or input?

I have an opportunity to pick up Dreadfleet for about $70.00.  For those that have played is it worth it?

Roll Call / Checking In
« on: February 08, 2015, 10:58:28 pm »
Hi everyone,
Names Tom, but I've been going by Alice-13 on the web for so long I didn't feel like changing it.  A while back I bought a DW CoA battle group box and never really found the time to play, I ran into Landlubber and Quickdraw @ Gamer's Haven in the Springs last week and they seemed like decent guys so I decided to join you on your forums.  Would like to get into a regular DW playing cycle and perhaps branch out into Firestorm if all goes well.  Still getting my feet wet in the wargamming community even though I have books and models for about 6 different games.  My interests lie along the more narrative style of game play rather than tournament level power player style.  I'm not a very competitive player, I'd rather lose a two hour game by 1 point than blow my opponent out of the water the first round.  I look forward to meeting you all and seeing across the table/high seas.
