The Unboxing
This is what greeted me when I opened the box.
Here is everything from the box laid out flat on my 4×6 foot gaming table.
Inside of a large manila envelope were the “soft” materials for the starter fleets, including assembly instructions and reference sheets.
Bases! Most of the bases, along with the Hawk tape measure and dice, were collected into these two bags.
Battlecruisers! Each BC came as cruiser sprue with resin upgrade pieces included inside the bag.
Here is a close-up of the resin bits for the PHR battlecrusier.
Packed with the rulebook were the quickplay sheets for the starter set, along with the punch-out clusters, the map, and the token sheet.
I couldn’t help but compare the DFC book to the rule book from another space game that also opted for a horizontal format!
Interestingly, the new DFC rule book is slightly larger than the old BBB.
Lots of stuff here to work with! I’m probably going to start digging into to the starter set stuff first, so stay tuned for updates. Until next time…
